RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY
We're still new and learning as we go, so your feedback means the world to us. If something isn't quite right with your order, we'll do our best to make it right. Whether it's a sizing issue or you simply didn't love the fit, we're here to make the return process as smooth as a clean forehand down the line.
RETURNS
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return eligible item(s).
Refunds and store credit are issued as follows:
- Faulty or incorrect items — all customers (AU, NZ, and US) receive a full refund to their original payment method.
- Change of mind returns (AU & NZ) — refund to original payment method
- Change of mind returns (US) — store credit to the value of the returned item
Returns requested outside this 30-day window cannot be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a return, items must be:
- Unworn and unused
- In original condition with all tags attached
- Free from makeup, fake tan, deodorant marks, oil stains, perfume or odours
- Returned with original packaging where reasonably possible
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
If an item does not meet these conditions, we reserve the right to decline the return.
HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN
To request a return, please email us at info@fortylove.com.au within 30 days of delivery.
When emailing, please:
- Include your order number
- Let us know the reason for your return
- Share any feedback — this genuinely helps us improve as a growing brand
If your return is approved, we'll provide the return address and next steps.
RETURN SHIPPING
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
- Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer, unless the item is faulty or incorrect
- We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.
DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@fortylove.com.au with:
- Your order number
- A brief description of the issue
- Clear photos of the item
We'll assess the issue promptly. Faulty or incorrect items will be refunded in full to your original payment method, including any original shipping costs, for all customers regardless of location.
NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
The following items cannot be returned:
- Sale items
- Gift cards
- Wash bags
- Any worn, washed, altered, or damaged items
EXCHANGES
We do not currently offer direct exchanges.
If you need a different size or style, the easiest option is to:
- Request a return for your original item
- Once approved, place a new order for your preferred item
We're working on a more seamless exchange system — stay tuned.
REFUNDS — AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND (CHANGE OF MIND)
Once your return is received and inspected, we'll notify you of the outcome.
If approved:
- Your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days
- Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to process and display the refund
If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved and you haven't received your refund, please contact us at info@fortylove.com.au.
STORE CREDIT — UNITED STATES (CHANGE OF MIND)
For US change of mind returns, approved returns are issued as store credit rather than a refund to the original payment method. This is because import duties and customs handling fees are absorbed by Forty-Love and built into our US pricing — issuing store credit allows us to honour the full product value without deducting these costs.
- Store credit is valid for 12 months from date of issue
- Store credit is issued to the email address on your original order
- Store credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash
- You will receive the full product value as store credit — no deductions for duties or handling fees
Note: if your US order contains a faulty or incorrect item, you are entitled to a full refund to your original payment method regardless of this policy.
INTERNATIONAL RETURNS
For returns from the United States or New Zealand, please email info@fortylove.com.au to obtain the correct return address.
Please note:
- International return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
- We strongly recommend using a tracked international shipping service — we cannot be responsible for items lost in return transit
- Any duties, taxes, or customs charges incurred when returning the item are not refundable
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable
AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
